From intaglio and woodcuts to pastels and clay, Sherry Clive uses a variety of media for expression. The media change and mix, the support moves from conventional to experimental. Her observation of object and form, architecture and space are important in all of her work. She uses materials that best suit what has to be said about the subject at hand. Often the individual works are enough in their own right, sometimes they are more than expected and a series begins.
Sherry Clive questions, observes, records and starts over again. The balance between technique and subject is always the goal. While light and shadow create a stage for the subject, there is a movement ready to begin. It may take flight or simply change with the passing of time.
Her work has been exhibited in group and solo shows internationally and can be found in both private and public collections.
